‘attachments’ (the little sister of ‘unknown person for the weekend’) is a programmed poetry project in two parts. each program generates a unique poem every time it’s run, sourcing from codified phrases and words of a single email——an email received in the aftermath of a sexual assault. all iterations of ‘attachments’ ask the same question(s):
_IS A MESSAGE RE-FORMED WHEN ITS LANGUAGE IS REAPPROPRIATED?
_WHICH WORDS ARE OURS? WHAT LANGUAGE IS OUR OWN?
_HOW CAN A VOICE BE RETURNED? _AND HOW CAN A VOICE BE TAKEN?
_CAN MACHINES BRING JUSTICE? _CAN MACHINES DESENSITIZE? _CAN MACHINES REVEAL RELATIONSHIPS? _CAN MACHINES BRING TRUTH?
on this page are sample iterations of each poem program.
